11 January, 2017 – Interview: John Mendelsohn

Special thanks to John Mendelsohn who sat for a wide-ranging interview on community conservation in Kunene and the history of conservation in Namibia more broadly. Mr. Mendelsohn is the founder and Director of Research and Information Services of Namibia (RAISON) and is serving as an informal supervisor to this project. Our conversation touched on the relative successes and challenges of the communal conservancies, the contemporary role of traditional authorities, and the means of comparing conservancy successes and challenges against one another. Thanks also to Stephie Mendelsohn who participated in the conversation.
